Why collecting sand?

Any things collect almost everybody. The fascination at sand collection  is the not ordinary of the thing. Additionaly you have a cost-effective vacation souvenir in your field of vision. Many people donīt know such collections. At last time, ask me a visitor (in my flat) "What are this for spices?"
My collection started in the year 1985. At a holiday in the near of Prerow (Mecklenburg [Germany] / Baltic Sea). At this place is me conspicuoused that the sand here is more fine and brighter than the sand from the Black Sea ( I spended here my holiday two years ago). To check my discovery, I had taken some sand with me. Two years later I was once more in Bulgaria at the Black Sea. From this point I had taken sand, too. At home came the sand in film boxes or little jam glasses. So began a collection, which is now bigger with help from parents and friends.
